Journey's End estate were purchased and replanted by the Gabb family in 1996. Beautiful location in the Helderberg Basin near Sir Lowry's Pass benefits from south-facing slopes and cool coastal breezes.The Schaapenberg terroir with its sea-facing slopes and excellent soils has started to draw comparison with some of Bordeaux's best, with some exceptional wines emerging from the area.
Cradled in the foothills of the Hottentot mountains with the views across False Bay the to Cape of Good Hope, lies Journey’s End - The Gabb Family Winery. Here lies a winelands paradise blessed with great views, a great climate and an abundance of indigenous bird and plant life.
Clear and bright, straw with a hint of green. Expressive fruit, initially lemon and citrus, but under that it’s more tropical and pineapple, all seamed through with crushed almond, savoury oak tones. This is a layered, complex wine, the result of cool-grown fruit carefully handled, plus barrel selection. The palate is silky, with a tangy finish from the fruit and acid combination, extending the flavours.
Try and pair this wine with chicken, white fish and creamy dishes.
