戶河內 Togouchi Peated Cask Finish Japanese Blended Whisky
Volume: 700ml
ABV: 40%
Distillery: Sakurao
Region: Japan
Togouchi Peated Cask Finish is a whisky aged in bourbon casks, then matured in casks previously filled with Islay whisky. It is not chill-filtered, which allows it to express smoky, peaty notes on the mid-palate.
The whiskies in the Togouchi range are all aged in a unique location, a 361-metre-long underground cellar buried at the foot of the Osorakan mountain, not far from the Sandankyo valley. It offers ideal conditions for maturing, with a constant temperature of 14°C and a humidity level of 80%. This allows the aromas to be extracted slowly from the casks, which explains the elegance of the Togouchi range and the crystalline hue of the whiskies.
