In 1960, Suntory Distillery celebrated its 60th anniversary with this remarkable release. The whisky is the last creation of the founder, Shinjiro Torii. This particular bottle hails from the 1990s, a period when Torii's son, Keizo Saji, was steering the Suntory Group. In 1984, he successfully propelled Yamazaki 12 Year to international acclaim and aimed to do the same with this whisky. To test market reactions and in honor of his father, a limited batch of Royal 15 Year was produced. A release occurred between 1992 and 1993, after which production ceased due to the subsequent launch of Yamazaki 18 Year.
The Yamazaki 15 Year Royal boasts a rich body infused with Asian characteristics, made using Japanese oak casks sourced from Yamazaki that possess exceptionally high oil content. It features an enchanting aroma of wood cask that truly reflects the artistry of this creation.
