Girard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Girard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Vintage Notes
The 2016 vintage for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon remained on track with previous years in terms of smaller yields of slightly smaller clusters. The quality of the lower yields remained high, in spite of early concerns about the few heat spikes during early summer months. Fortunately, cooler August temperatures slowed ripening to a luxurious pace which allowed us to harvest each parcel at optimal ripeness.
Winemaker Notes
This Cabernet hails from select vineyards across the Napa Valley, including sites in St. Helena, Rutherford, Atlas Peak, Yountville, Diamond Mountain, and Pope Valley. Girard has over four decades of Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon experience and every vintage is an opportunity to explore the distinctive expression of this noble grape
Tasting Notes
Ripe, brooding and dense, the nose reveals hints of cocoa, raspberry and black plum. On the palate, this well-structured wine reveals red and blackberry fruit, wet stone-like minerality and savory dried herbs. Palate coating and full-bodied, this wine has a luxuriously long finish.
