Alberto Oggero, born in 1985, was always passionate about his homeland: the Roero area of Piedmont, right on the left side of the river Tanaro, opposite to the Langhe. Grown without a family cellar, he studied oenology in Alba before starting to farm the vineyards of his father and uncle in Santo Stefano Roero. He experiments with the aim of creating wines that can offer the best expression of the soils and grapes typical of his lands, with a touch of his own unnique style. 2009 is the first vintage bottled and released as “Alberto Oggero”. His passion brought him to also found “SoloRoero” a group of three friend producers who aim to produce wine representing of their land and realities, cultivating and vinifying only the most classic and typical varieties: Arneis and Nebbiolo.
Tasting Notes and Pairing:
The grapes are born on lesser-sandy soils, more rich in clay that what is typical in the area. Exuberant and winy, but with a wide and robust body, also due to the oak passage, this wine is perfect to pair with a typical salumi and cheese platter, with oil or vinegard-preserved vegetables: rustic and slightly spicy tastes.
