Undurraga, Terroir Hunter (T.H.), Cabernet Sauvignon, 2017
Cauquenes, Red clayed soils on granite slopes, 6.45 hectares, limited to 2224 cases
Project: A constant search across the diverse Chilean topography for micro terroirs. Small plots of land, in areas with strong character, are carefully managed to obtain genuine wines of origin.
Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon
Origin: Vineyard located in Caquenes, a town in the souther part of the Maule Valley
Facts: Densely planted vines on gentle slopes of granitic origin in fertility red clay soils with a high quartz content. The warm days and cool nights habitual in Cauquenes enable balanced ripening in the Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were hand-harvested and their qualities were delicately extracted during fermentation. This wine was aged in French oak barrels for 16 months.
